Charles Shemie
CPA, Auditor CA
Charles Shemie is the founding partner of Shemie CPA. He graduated from McGill University’s Bachelor of Commerce program with a Major in Accounting in 1984. He went on to complete his graduate degree in accounting at McGill from which he graduated in 1985. He obtained his CPA Auditor, CA designation in 1986. After spending several years in one of Canada’s largest accounting firms, Charles decided that he would better serve his clients if he opened his own professional services firm. Shemie CPA was founded in 1987 and continues to strive to help clients achieve their goals today.
Matthew Lipman
CPA
Matthew Lipman joined Shemie CPA in 2018 and has quickly progressed to a leadership role. After graduating from Concordia’s John Molson School of Business’ Bachelor of Commerce program with a major in accounting in 2014, Matthew went on to complete his Graduate degree in Chartered Accounting and obtained his CPA designation in 2016. He then completed the three year In-Depth Tax Course offered by CPA Canada in 2018. Matthew has expertise in accounting and taxation as well as in advisory services.
Sophie Shemie
Sophie graduated from McGill’s Bachelor of Arts with a major in History in Spring 2021. She then was admitted to University of Montreal’s Bachelors of Law program in Fall 2022. Sophie is interning with Shemie CPA’s Corporate Services’ Team, where she assists with Incorporations, minute book preparation and shareholder resolutions. Sophie also assists our tax team with routine compliance checks.
Kevin Shemie
Kevin is a knowledgeable and strategic Real Estate Management Professional with a solid track record of managing and leading operations related to assisted living properties in Quebec spanning over 31 successful years. Recognized as a respected, trusted and approachable professional with an industry-wide reputation for integrity in dealings with clients, employees and contractors with the ability to inspire, coach and develop others. Skilled at maximizing property value and client satisfaction, through measurable gains in occupancy and cost control. Proven ability to identify potential challenges, define opportunities, formulate strategies and implement solutions.
